Looking back on last week (April 6-13th), I’ve realized that it was the best week of my life.

First and foremost, my wife and I welcomed Cassandra Sigrid Sparks Neville into our world.

Words can’t explain how amazing Cassandra is. She’s quite simply the most wonderful thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.

So, Cassandra alone would have made the week great, but the awesomeness doesn’t stop there.

After having some sort of debt, either student loans, lines of credit, credit cards or car payments since 1994, Kim and I are both debt free. The last payment on my little station wagon went out and we are debt free. This feels sooooo good, it’s not even funny.

Last week I also celebrated 10 years of creating entertainment professionally. It’s hard to believe that back in 1997 I was walking down the road trying to find Electronic Arts’ QA department. Over the past 10 years I’ve had the pleasure of making people smile by creating entertainment. It’s mostly been video games, but I also spent a couple of years doing BMX direct to video and television productions.

Ultimately, it means that ever since I finished University, I’ve been able to pay the bills by doing things that make me happy by making other people happy. That’s worth celebrating.

And finally, after working on over a dozen games during the past 10 years, for the first time, my current project is featured on the cover of a major magazine. Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the cover feature in the current issue of Games for Windows magazine.

A great way to top off a great week.
