After various failed attempts to use my Windows key from Virtual PC to install Windows on my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp, I finally decided to break down and pay for Windows. (yes, people actually pay for Windows)
The whole process was relatively painless, but I felt a piece of my soul die when my MacBook started making Windows noises. It just felt wrong, I don’t know how else to explain it.
The good news is that my soul came back when I got Dawn of War up and running and could see all of the graphics options set to max. Game make pretty.
So here I am, having my cake and eating it too. The best of both worlds. Between a rock and a hard place. Windows on a Mac. It works great, I like it lots, it’s easy as pie.
Now I get to install Company of Heroes and see how the craziest RTS on the market chokes up my little laptop.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Parallels, but I don’t think that it runs natively on Macs. I looked into it and I was sure it does emulation (ie: virtual machine) while running with OSX. For gaming (which is the only thing I’ll use Windows for), I want it to run natively for best performance. I might be wrong, but that’s what my research online showed, and the Internet is only reliable as the blogs it’s printed on.

It runs native in its own window. My friend swears by it for his music production which requires really high performance. I havent tried it yet, but will once I grab a new machine.
