New Comic Day

March 29th, 2006 · No Comments

It’s been a while since graphic novels I’ve felt the need to buy have been released. Today the big four don’t have any stand-outs, so we’ll go straight to a couple of hot indy books.

Lullaby is our first little indy hit.

Lullaby is the retelling of classic fairy tales with a manga art style. Lullaby is the kind of comic that is deserving of more attention and something that SHOULD be rediculously successful, but the American comic fan is simply obsessed with men in spandex. Lullaby has great writing, great art, an accessible theme that everyone can jump into at any point and is great for readers of all ages.

What gives? Read this book - heck, it’s only $8.50!

Next up - the comic nobody has heard of, but everyone should read: Sharknife

Praised by the likes of Warren Ellis, Sharknife pack action, humor, original art and a solid story all into one great book. This is a reprint release, jammed with some cool extras from creator Corey Lewis and is a great book for people looking to try out something new.

Really - it’s called Sharknife. With a name like that, it can’t suck.
